Are you interested in a remodel or a custom home built from the ground up? Then you’ve come to the right place.
We know this is a big step for you. It is important that you have the right person overseeing the entire process, from the planning to the final walk through. Please let me take a moment to introduce myself.
My name is Sam Mahnken, and I am the owner of Mahnken Construction Inc.
As a child, I was always interested in anything that had to do with tools and construction. Through my teen years, I spent a lot of time building custom cars and trucks. I was very interested in the small details that made the vehicles stand out in the many car shows I attended. After graduating high school, I took that passion to the next level and attended Universal Technical Institute where I received my degree in automotive/diesel/industrial technologies. I was hand selected by Mercedes Benz to attend their factory training to become a certified Mercedes Benz technician. Only the top 10 students based on GPA and attendance were offered this opportunity. After completing this training, I worked as a certified technician for three and a half years. While I enjoyed every minute of being a technician, I felt that my true calling was something that would challenge me and give me the opportunity to express my creative side.
When I was offered a position with the National Park Service in San Francisco as part of a historical restoration team, I could not pass it up. As a historical restoration specialist, I was responsible for taking historical buildings back to their original look and feel while updating the mechanicals to current code. I was based out of a carpentry shop where we custom milled our own doors, windows and trim work to match period correct look. This is where my attention to very small details really blossomed. Whether I was running new electrical circuits or making ten sets of double hung windows from scratch, I always made sure it was done to the highest quality possible. This was not a job for me, but a true passion.
After gaining the skills, I decided it was time to venture out on my own and become a licensed contractor. Very quickly I discovered how much I enjoyed putting a smile on my clients’ faces as I made their dreams become reality. I take great pride in quality craftsmanship. I enjoy working with clients on all phases of planning and construction and look forward to many more years of satisfied homeowners.
